Foundation Friday

Happy Foundation Friday Loves!!

Today I would share my little collection of foundations but first I would like to start with some info:
I’m 45years old, I have dry skin, and what I’m looking for in a foundation is to have medium coverage, dewy or natural finish, obviously to not settle in my fine lines and wrinkles and to be long-wearing.

Deciem The Ordinary Serum Foundation

The most affordable foundation in my stash, I have gone through numerous bottles of this, it has a light to medium coverage, dewy finish, is not long-wearing, and I definitely wouldn’t wear this when my skin isn’t properly exfoliated. It tends to cling onto dry patches but otherwise is an easy everyday foundation.

Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’ r Hydrating Longwear Foundation

I bought this foundation in my last trip, and unfortunately, I was matched wrong by the Sephora girl. It is far too light for my skin, I did try to darken it with bronzer but I ended up not wearing it even though I love how it feels on my face, the finish and the wear time. I’m planning to repurchase it, hopefully in the right shade this time.

LancomeTeint Idole Ultra Wear

This foundation is love of my life! This foundation is so beautiful, the perfect amount of coverage, it stays put, it looks natural, it doesn’t crease has a great wear time… I basically could rave for hours about it; the only problem is that I have the American version of it, and now I’m having a bit of a challenge to find the exact European match. Oh, joy.......

IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation

I guess you can easily tell how much I wear this one by the fact that I already hit pan. This is my easy-peasy be out of the door in 5 minutes foundation. It is a medium to full coverage, matte finish, and decent wear time. Downsides, it has a very poor color range; after 4-5 h mark, it tends to settle a bit in my deep creases; also the upper layer of it tends to oxidize and look dirty, so I keep scraping it off so is a bit wasteful.

Clarins Skin Illusion

The name of this foundation  is self-explanatory, an excellent foundation for mature skin types with a natural dewy finish, decent wear time. I find that for me, it works best if I apply it with a brush and buff it into the skin, but the effect of it is with the extra time and effort. It looks like gorgeous dewy skin. It has a decent wear time, but it does settle in the deep creases after a while. I find that if I set it with powder, it will crease faster than If I would just blot the excess and don’t powder.

Dior Backstage Foundation

I bought this last year in Paris because of the amount of hype it had on insta, and in the beginning, I was struggling so hard to like it. It was creasing, enhancing my pores, and after two hours of wear, I was looking 100 years old. Was drying too fast to apply it with a brush, too thick for beauty blender… then I start to apply it with my fingers, and it was Love. It has medium to full coverage, stays put, is waterproof, and is just perfect
