My favorite products from Marie Mize Advanced Skincare #SPONSORED

Today's post is graciously brought to you by Marie Mize Advanced Skincare.

Meeting indie brands and the people behind them is maybe one of the most beautiful and rewarding perks of beauty blogging. I swear I could sit down and listen to them talking for days.  They are so passionate about skin

At the very beginning of March, I was approached by Joan from Marie Mize Advanced Skincare, we talked about her line, and I was so excited when she choose me to try her newly launched line and offer to sponsor my today’s post.  Thank you so much Joan & Marie Mize Advanced Skincare
Marie Mize Advanced Skincare is a facialist brand founded by Joan Marie Mize licensed aesthetician and skincare expert and is a  high-quality line inside out.
Beautiful formula, clean and sleek packaging all her line has that spa minimalism feeling about it.
I am the first to admit that I love me a photogenic Instagramable brand, I mean does it even count as skincare routine if you can't post it in Instagram ?!!

But Marie Mize Advanced Skincare is far more than just a pretty face. Dainty looking her products wouldn’t look out of place on grandma's vanity table, mom’s sink, or in my bathroom cabinet; packaging wise they are a timeless classic.

Formula wise the entire range is inspired by the power of peptides. Wait a minute you will say, isn't the retinol that is the golden standard in anti-aging?  Yes, it is but with peptides, there is a lower chance for irritation, purging, dryness, and peeling, all of which are common when using retinoids.
The formula is always the king, but as a rule of the thumb, peptides are gentler on the skin than retinol is.  For example, I have the skin of a rhino, I can take prescription retinol and strong acids but my mom cant.  She needs way gentler products for her aging skin. Actually, most people I know prefer gentler products.

Additionally, peptides play well with almost all other actives, so you can easily add actives to boost the efficacy of the existing skincare routine.

Marie Mize Advanced Skincare promotes a simple routine that focuses is on hydration, with gentle ingredients to soothe and calm the skin and potent peptides to support skin and gradually improve its appearance over time.

As we age, we have less time and sometimes even less energy to put up with long and complicated routines; I mean how many times were you so darn tired or in a rush and just cleansed, slapped some moisturizer and call it a day? I know I often did that. Is called life.
And here is where  Marie Mize Advanced Skincare line comes like a breath of fresh air promoting a simplified skincare routine that makes sense and is efficient at the same time.
For today's post, I chose five of  Marie Mize Advanced Skincare products for a speedy mini-review, and if you want more, there is a mini interview with Joan Marie Mize at the end of the post. I asked her a few questions about Marie Mize line knowing that you, my skin enthusiast friends would love to read!

It is a long post, so please feel free to skip parts and go  to the product/ part you are interested in

My experience with it
When it comes about Vitamin C I can be quite picky, so, to be honest, I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I do. I want my vitamin C to work on my pigmentation to brighten me, give me that healthy glow and to not break me out like I’m a teenager on Nutella diet. Which most Vitamin C serums do. However, I have experienced no irritation with Threefold C Serum, I think is an excellent serum for vitamin c starters, and even if you are more advanced in the game, but you fancy something that you can use every day.
The first couple of days I used Threefold C Serum, I didn't really see a difference, I was starting to wonder if it does really work plus it was a bit drying for my already super dry skin, but within a week I began to notice my skin was improving massively. The glow was coming through, my skin feeling youthful, glowing and just all around nourished and lovely.
So far I haven't noticed any change in my sun spots and pigmentation but the texture of the skin seems improved.

What did I like about?
Vita C is AMAZABALLS day to night! It’s clean, it is light, and it is fresh on my skin, pairs & mixes perfectly with all my foundations and my other skincare products. Vita C behaves wonderfully under makeup but at the same time gives my super dry skin the perfect moisture balance and helps keep my skin clear and bright for when I don’t want to wear foundations!
A little goes far away, and the packaging is cute and straightforward.
**I used Vita C Moisturizing Lotion together with Threefold C Serum for an added booster of Vitamin C!

Can be used around eyes?
No, even getting remotely close to the orbital bone area it did sting my eyes.

On the Creamy Cleanser defense, I am taking swimming classes twice a week and at the moment im learning crawl and underwater swimming. My eyes are usually not sensitive, but I think they are sensitized now because of chloride. I cannot wear swimming goggles because I want to be confident about me swimming with eyes open and because I have undereye filler and i don't want to put pressure on it.
Not sure .. might be the cleanser it may be my eyes. I will put the cleanser aside and try it again once I sorted out my eyes.

My experience with it
For me, personally  Creamy Cleanser is a 2nd cleanser avoiding eye area.
It has the loveliest creamy texture and doesn't smell like anything really ..if you don't like balm and oil cleansers try this one; if used as a 1st cleanser is good removing sunscreen and makeup without scrubbing, stinging, or leaving skin tight and tingly.
Plus, thanks to the lovely creamy texture, Creamy Cleanser actually does double-duty cleanse the skin and injects moisture into the skin.

Daily Exfoliating Mint Cleanser

What is it
exfoliating cleanser
Who is it for
skin types
How do you use it?
Apply a small amount morning or evening adding water to lather, avoid eye area, rinse thoroughly. May be used up to twice daily.

Aqua (Water), Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Glycol Distearate, Lactic Acid (L), Malic Acid (L), Tartaric Acid (L), Menthol (L), Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Mentha Viridis (Spearmint) Leaf Oil, Propanediol, Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine, Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol

Formulated without
paraben free, phthalate free, sulfate free, artificial color free
How much do you get
6 fl oz
Retail price
$32.00
Can be used around eyes?
No
My experience with it
I really enjoy this exfoliating cleanser. Slightly minty and refreshing (oh summer days) Is mild enough to be used daily, even on sensitive/sensitized skin. I did not use it every day to be honest because im using retinol and acids in  my routines and I don't want to over exfoliate. It has tartaric and Malic acids  that helps with exfoliation, brightening and moisture retention. Excellent price and within anyone's budget. I would recommend Daily Exfoliating Mint Cleanser but warn not to use it daily if you have other acids and exfoliators in your routine. Also please use sunscreen!

Joan Marie Mize, founder of Marie Mize Advanced SkinCare Interview

How did Marie Mize Advanced Skin Care start?

I have been an esthetician and skin care product retailer for many years. Fortunate to have a successful private esthetic practice with a loyal clientele, I realized that it was time for me to take my knowledge and develop my own product line.
I was at a considerable advantage. Not only was I able to visually see any changes (positive or negative) in my client's skin from product application and use, I got continued feedback on what they thought of specific products, right down to the packaging!
I was clear on what active ingredients I wanted to start with, and after finding just the right lab and chemist to meet my needs, my first formulations were developed.
I put together a focus group of 40 women. These women were discriminating skin care users, varied ages and skin types. Their experience with the products was going to be the determining factor for me to move forward with manufacturing the line. After 1 month of using the products, the positive feedback and visible results were far beyond what I expected.
After 2 years of product development, I had no hesitation moving forward with Marie Mize Advanced Skin Care.

What have been the most significant challenge in creating your skincare line?

There were actually 2 significant challenges. Creating a high performing product line that sensitive skin types could handle. So far, there has been a very low sensitivity reaction rate with any of my products and the visible results are quickly apparent.
The 2nd challenge, believe it or not, the way the products should smell. Basically, with formulating, the decision is scent or no scent. I know some people are sensitive to any scent, on the other hand, a fabulous product motivates you to use it! I definitely had those sensitive noses in my focus group and out of the many customers that are currently on my products, everyone seems to love the smell! There is no perfume in my products, only natural botanicals.

Can you tell me what is your hero product and why?

Performing Peptide Serum is “the bomb” for sure. It is the perfect formulation to soften fine lines to deep wrinkles. With concentrated peptides, the results are improved texture, improved hydration, and a volumizing effect for plumper, firmer skin. With Performing Peptide Serum, there can be a dramatic improvement, especially to mature skin.

What would you recommend for Marie Mize Skin Care customers to harness the maximum effects of your products?

I encourage customers to start with the core of the product line which consists of 4 products: Creamy Cleanser, Threefold C Serum, Performing Peptide Serum and Vita C Moisturizing Lotion. I did formulate each product to layer easily, making the line flexible to use with products from other skin care lines. At minimum, customers should use both serums, Threefold C Serum and Performing Peptide Serum for the highest performance with visible results. Of course, twice a day with the product line is best, but I have those clients that honestly admit they are once a day people. The products still perform exceptionally well for those “once a day-ers.”

What do you think are the characteristics that make Marie Mize Advanced Skin Care unique from other skincare products out there?

Esthetician developed is a biggy. Kind of like, would you want your toothpaste created by a celebrity or a dentist? The development of this line was based on hands-on experience with many clients of varied skin types and concerns. Because of my background, I truly believe in a balance between chemical ingredients and natural ingredients in product formulation. Not having sulfates, parabens, phthalates, artificial dyes or colors and certainly, no animal testing was a no brainer for me. I think that nowadays, this is what people want…it’s what I personally want in a skincare product! It is amazingly easy to do in formulating. It can make the product be a bit more expensive…it’s much cheaper to add a bunch of fillers and low performing ingredients to skin care products. I couldn’t do that with a clear conscience.

    1. thats what i meant, retinol might be the golden standard in antiaging but a lot of people cant tolerate retinol, peptides are a safer road to antiaging succes. Yes they wont do overnight miracles but neither does retinol

  9. The packaging of the products is nice, I really like the spa, minimalistic and clean packaging. I have always been afraid to spend this much money buying products because I am not sure if they will actually work any better than groceries brand. But your reviews are thorough and products seems to work well. The serum sounds like a product that could benefit me, with dry skin.
