Sol de Janeiro| Coco Cabana Cream Review

I feel like I need to start with I love Sol de Janeiro as a brand and I swear by their body care!  that’s why when u got a chance to try Sol de Janeiro Coco Cabana Cream I did not need one second to think about, I just said yes yes yes please, and today I am ready to bring you the Sol de Janeiro Coco Cabana Cream Review

In the name of transparency, this product was sent to me for testing by SDJ via Octoly! Is a pr sample!
When I saw this new scent being released I was so freaking excited because
one: I knew the quality of SDJ products and the name coco cabana just made me dream of the most exotic corners of earth
two: the promised 72h of hydration and oil-in-water formula spoke to me instantly.
The fact I got a press sample before I bought it is just pure luck, I guess.

I use body lotions/creams/oils/butters/etc. (not all together) Since the age of 12 or so, my skin is dry not only on my face but also my body and especially my legs. Not that I planned to not shower for three days to test the cream, but in my mind the promised 72 hours of hydration translated to extra pampering. And Coco Cabana didn’t disappoint here. I love the texture and how moisturizing this is. Once I apply this body cream my skin feels so smooth plump and bouncy.
However, the joy, unfortunately, it didn’t last much, at first the scent of it is a taste to be acquired, to me, it smells like butter popcorn mixed with cotton candy and caramel, it doesn’t smell bad but is a bit overpowering and I needed time to get used to it. Also, the smell lingers quite a bit, which is not something I necessarily look for in body creams. I like a bit of fragrance there, not going to lie, but I’m someone who also uses perfumes, so I found it a bit tricky to layer in the beginning

What did I like about?
Is gorgeous looking, has a satisfying gel-cream texture that is so #texturetuesday worthy, is lightweight, is super moisturizing and makes my skin looks like I’m 25 again! I live for all that!

I apply a layer of coco cabana it in the morning after the shower, and my skin is hydrated and plump till the evening. It has also sorted out my super dry and scaly elbows after a couple of applications.

What I didn’t like about
The smell is not bad but is not a familiar scent for body lotions, also a bit too strong. Unfortunately, this one is not for me ... it has fantastic moisturizing qualities, but the fragrance is so unusual. Also, while the cream worked fantastically for most of my body, it seemed to exacerbate some keratosis pilaris on the back of my legs and my bum(bum) 'pun intended 'lol
the back of my leg , sorry if is too graphic

I am not saying this is a lousy product because it is not, but I advise to go to a counter to smell first eventually get a sample of it. Smell it, try it, live with it for a day or two before committing to a full-size.

Would I repurchase?
I don’t think so, I will remain faithful to my Açaí Body Power Cream.

Just curious here: have any of you try it? How do you like it?
